Description

Today is different than yesterday. Wherever we live or work new trends, challenges, and events come at us and we act or react. In our profession we experience the same. Whether it is new technologies or unforeseen events, these things impact us in some way. Or can we initiate the impact? Libraries have an impact on society and we can work to advance the library’s role in facilitating continued impact on society.

This is the compelling topic that will be discussed at the IFLA President’s Meeting in Helsinki, Finland from May 22-24, 2014. Respected experts from various parts of the world will be present to offer their knowledge and experiences in light of global trends. Sinikka Sipilä, IFLA President, warmly welcomes you all to join and participate in this Meeting. We will share and discuss ideas, policies, and methods on how Strong Libraries can make an impact on developing Strong Societies.
